It can help organizations understand the “moments that matter” for employees and improve the employee experience. They can help you gain a better understanding of employee’s needs.

In this talk, you will learn about the fundamentals of employee journey mapping. By understanding the learnings an employee journey map can offer, you can find those critical “moments that matter” for employees.

Learning Objectives:

  • Decide what and who to focus on with your employee journey map.
  • Conduct interviews and collect feedback for your journey maps.
  • Prioritize solutions and improvements identified through building your employee journey map.
  • Obtain buy-in from leadership for employee journey mapping.

Bio on Paul Lopushinsky

Hi! I’m Paul Lopushinsky. In case you’re wondering how to pronounce that, it’s Law-puh-shin-ski. Don’t worry, I’ve heard every mispronunciation under the sun.

Working in the Product Management and User Experience Design space since 2012, I’m experienced with using the design thinking process to identify user needs and pain points, along with the user onboarding experience, and customer journey mapping.

I’ve seen time and time again organizations will focus on the user, and not the employee.

I founded Playficient in to address this gap. I want to help organizations see the value in putting employees first, and making long-term investments into their employees and the employee experience.

On The Playful part of Playficient

I experienced firsthand the benefits of adding more play into my adult life. After University, I found myself struggling to make new friends beyond the working world, so I took up activities of play like improv in the fall of 2014. Through play I was able to open up a part of mind that lay dormant.

I was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and have lived in Vancouver since from the Spring of 2017-2023 before moving back to Edmonton. For play, my main activities of choice are improv, sketch comedy, tabletop role-playing games, playing guitar, and acro yoga.

This session is pending for SHRM Professional Development Credits (PDCs) and HRCI re-certification credits.
